Specs read from manufacturer pages. Each bed's page lists its source and check date. “—” means not yet sourced, never guessed. Any “lowest price” or “least floor space” label is arithmetic on the column above, not a paid placement.

What is in here

73 models from 10 makers, split between 62 finished beds and 11 hardware kits, in 5 sizes (queen, twin, full, king, twin-xl). 12 of them are freestanding, meaning they need no wall fixing at all, which is the group renters usually end up in. Published prices run from $189 to $15,540, a spread of more than 82 times between the cheapest kit and the most expensive finished system. How far they reach into the room when open runs 37.5 to 96.85 inches, and that single number rules more rooms in or out than anything else on this page.

How complete this data actually is

Across these 73 models we look for 934 individual figures and the manufacturers publish 618 of them, which is 66%. We would rather show you that number than pretend the gaps are not there. Every dash in the table is a figure its maker does not state anywhere we could find, never a number we guessed or rounded from a picture.

The figures manufacturers withhold most often:

  • assembly time, missing on 65 of 73 models.
  • the mattress weight window, missing on 54 of 73 models.
  • maximum mattress thickness, missing on 30 of 73 models.
  • panel materials, missing on 29 of 73 models.

How to read the table

Open depth is the one to sort on first. It is how far the bed sticks out from the mounting wall once it is down, and you need that figure plus walking room, not just the figure itself. The room-fit calculator does that arithmetic against your actual measurements.

Mechanism tells you how the bed counterbalances itself. It changes how heavy the lift feels and what eventually needs servicing, and it correlates with the mattress limits more than most buyers expect. We break that down in piston against spring.

Max mattress thickness and weight are hard limits set by the mechanism, not suggestions. Buying a mattress before the bed is the most common expensive mistake in this category, which is why choosing the mattress starts from those two numbers rather than from comfort ratings.

Most complete specs sorts by how much of its own specification each maker publishes. It is the closest thing here to a measure of how straight a manufacturer is being with you before you have spoken to anyone.

Where these numbers come from

Every figure is read from the manufacturer's own product page or documentation and carries the date it was checked, shown on each model's page. The current set was verified on 2026-08-22 and 2026-08-26. Prices in this category move constantly and most makers run near permanent promotions, so treat every price here as the figure on the date we checked rather than today's. Our verification method explains what we do when a maker publishes a number only as a drawing, which happens more than you would think.

No maker pays to appear here and no maker can pay to rank higher. Where we link to a seller the link is marked as sponsored and we say so in the affiliate disclosure. Sorting is arithmetic on the columns above and nothing else.
